My name is Beau and this is a website about me and my interests. On the Projects page, you’ll find various things that one might find interesting to learn about me, whether it be for personal reasons or professional reasons. This includes interests, hobbies, projects, etc.
Professionally, I’m an open source database person. I’ve filled various roles in my career working with databases and data platforms, including administrator, engineer, and architect. My background is primarily systems oriented, so I’m better at making these platforms run and perform well than building things for them. I am, primarily, self-taught, and would say I’ve been pretty successful in my 20+ year career.
A couple of causes that interest me are retired racing greyhound adoption and pro-vaccination advocacy. In terms of greyhound adoption, I renew my membership with Greyhound Adoption League of Texas annually and have two greyhounds of my own.
As a hobby, I do some coding and home automation. Most of my coding is done with Python and some of this involves machine learning, having worked in small capacities with Tensorflow and Torch, mostly around computer vision. I hope to extend this into data analysis, modeling, and prediction, things that could potentially contribute to my career.
